Dr. Dwana Shabazz: Board Certified Dermatologist at Renascance Dermatology

Dr. Dwana Shabazz was born in a military family. Living in the Washington, D.C. area since age 10, she claims this region as her hometown. Dr. Shabazz attended Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans and graduated magna cum laude. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Pre-Medicine. She came home to George Washington University and
obtained both her medical degree and Masters of Public Health in Community Health.

After graduation, Dr. Shabazz remained at George Washington University for her internship in Internal Medicine. Afterwards, she moved to Los Angeles for her dermatology residency at King-Drew/Harbor UCLA Medical Center. While there, she served as chief resident during her final year. Dr. Shabazz relocated to Sterling, Virginia after residency and worked in private
practice before establishing Renascance Dermatology.

As a Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Shabazz practices general and cosmetic dermatology and performs surgical procedures. She often participates in local and regional outreach programs, such as skin cancer screenings, speaks at local and national conferences, and has been an author of peer-reviewed journals and a contributor author to various books and publications.

At Renascance Dermatology, we realize the skin is an indicator of systemic disease, shows the manifestations of environmental stimuli, and plays a key role in expression of positive self confidence and esteem. As such, the evaluation and treatment of the various dermatologic and aesthetic conditions should have a specific and individualized approach.

Dr. Shabazz is a Board Certified Dermatologist that brings an expertise of general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology to the Northern Virginia and the DC Metropolitan Area.

Renascance Dermatology was inspired by family. The office is housed with Fair Oaks Podiatry and Sports Medicine, where Zakee Shabazz, DPM is the podiatrist. The Daffodil is the birth flower for December, her son’s birth month, and the Emerald is the birthstone for May, her daughter’s birth month. Our logo, a narcissus (or daffodil), and the color, emerald green, mean “rebirth” — and so does the word “Renascance.”

Our desire is to work as a team to help you experience healthy and revitalized skin so that you can feel like the beautiful person you are. Our primary services are: General Dermatology (Adults and Pediatrics), Skin Cancer Screening, Skin of Color, Surgical Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Renascance Dermatology is located at 3620 Joseph Siewick Dr., #303 in Fairfax, VA.
